Digital Meters
Pictured above is the new digital meter face!
Anytime water is actively flowing through the meter, FLOW will be displayed on the far left of the digital screen. This will be an indicator of a small leak.
LEAK will be displayed, directly beside FLOW , when the water has not been stagnant in the meter during the last few days. This can be a sign of a leaky faucet or toilet cistern.
BURST will be displayed if the water flow has exceeded a pre-programmed limit for minimum 30 minutes which is a sign of a burst pipe.
**The small flashing square on the bottom right of the display indicates the meter is active and functioning properly. This is not a leak indicator.**
Digital meters record a daily usage. This information can be downloaded at the meter and sent to you for a service charge of $50. Please contact the office if you are interested in this service.
Billing
Bills are mailed before the first of each month and are due and payable on or before the 10th of the month. All bills not paid in full on or before the due date will be deemed delinquent and a 10% penalty will be added to the account. All delinquent accounts are sent a late notice. Failure to receive a bill does not waive payment. Any accounts in arrears on the 25th of the month will be repossessed on the 25th, without further notice. There will be a $50.00 termination fee charged to all accounts terminated.
Customer Responsibility
The Customer is responsible for all leaks, breaks or other problems beyond the service connection fitting. Adjustments are given if there is a defect in the meter, the meter was misread, or under the leak adjustment policy.
Leak Adjustment Policy
The District has a leak adjustment policy covering leaks or catastrophic problems. This is a one-time only policy. The adjustment must meet certain criteria to qualify, ask a customer service representative for details.
